Wii Party

It’s Time To Party With Your Miis!

What It Is

Wii Party is Nintendo’s latest party game and it is the perfect video game for everyone in your family to play together. It is a collection of games that range from board game-style party games for up to four players to couples games that are designed for two players. There is also a third category of games called House Party games, that use the room you are playing in to take the party off of the TV and into your house. In House Party, you might be playing a game of hot potato or searching the room for hidden Wii-Remotes.

Why It’s Fun

Wii Party is a lot of fun for two reasons. The first is that you get to play as any of the Miis that you have created on your Wii. Not only do you play as your Mii but you will also encounter the other Miis that you have created throughout the different games. Playing as and with your Miis would only be a novelty if it wasn’t for the second reason why Wii Party is so much fun — the games.

The games on Wii Party are a great addition to Nintendo’s collection of goofy, funny and playful games. In Buddy Quiz, one player is the Buddy and the other three players have to answer a series of questions to determine who knows the buddy best. In Animal Tracker, players place the Wii-Remotes on a table and have to be the first to grab the remote making the correct noise that corresponds with the animal on TV. Spin-Off is a TV game-show inspired game of chance and Bingo uses your Miis rather than letters and numbers that usually are associated with Bingo. There is even a game that asks three players to leave the room while one player hides the Wii-Remotes around that room. The other three players return and have a limited time to locate the hidden Remotes.

Who’s Going To Love It

Anyone, regardless of age, who enjoys goofy party games is going to have a blast playing Wii Party with their family or friends.

What To Be Aware Of

The games are selected from the main menu and grouped into categories that tell you how many players can play each game. Don’t worry if you have two players and want to play a four-player game because the Wii will substitute computer players for the other two players. The main menu also tells you the average length of each game, which is very handy to know before starting a game. The lengths range from quick five-minute games to others that can last up to one hour.

Replayability

You can play this game over and over because some of the games involve playing mini-games within the main game. There are around 75 different mini-games and they can also be accessed directly from the Minigame mode.

Fun Scale

5 out of 5

It has to be fun or it wouldn’t be on Time to Play. But some games are more fun than others so here’s our scale: 1 is fun, 2 is a lot of fun, 3 is great, 4 is awesome and 5 is out-of-this-world!
