Babysitting Goes Digital with Babysitting Mama
What It Is
Video game controllers come in many shapes and sizes, think of the drum set for Rock Band, but none are as cute as the plush baby doll controller that comes with the new babysitting Mama game. Babysitting Mama is the latest Majesco Mama game and this time, everyone’s favorite bandanna-wearing taskmaster is charged with taking care of a bunch of babies. Mama needs your help with those babies and you will play the game using the plush doll as a controller. The doll has a compartment in the back for you to tuck your Wii Remote into, turning the doll itself into the controller for the game. When the remote is tucked into the doll, sound comes out of the remote’s speaker so it sounds as if the doll is making noise.
Why It’s Fun
First of all, the cuteness factor of this doll is over-the-top and the novelty of playing a game with a soft and cuddly doll is a blast! Beyond the controller itself, Babysitting Mama is filled with the fast and fun mini games that the Mama series of games are known for. There are more than 40 challenges that recreate real babysitting activities such as peek-a-boo, rocking the baby to sleep, bouncing, feeding, bathing and even changing the baby. The challenges vary from mini-game style to baby care activities and there are six different babies to care for.
Who’s Going To Love It
This is an ideal game for little kids in the four to eight year old range. Kids at the lower end of that range won’t care that this is a baby doll and both girls AND boys will love this new way of playing a game.
What To Be Aware Of
The packaging that the doll and game are sold in is also a crib for the doll so don’t throw it out!
4 out of 5
It has to be fun or it wouldn’t be on Time to Play. But some games are more fun than others so here’s our scale: 1 is fun, 2 is a lot of fun, 3 is great, 4 is awesome and 5 is out-of-this-world!
