Endless Ocean: Blue World
Dive Into An Engaging Mystery Under The Sea With Endless Ocean: Blue World
What It Is
Endless Ocean: Blue World is a story-driven and visually enticing game in which you are a character taking time off from school to search for a legendary sunken city. Unfortunately, you aren’t made of money so in order to spend time diving and searching, you are going to have to work for L&L Diving Service and your boss, Jean-Eric, the ship’s captain. Along the way, you will find yourself going deeper into an undersea mystery as you learn about the creatures and habitats beneath the surface.
Blue World is an underwater exploration where you interact with and learn about creatures as small as shrimp and as large as whales.
Why It’s Fun
The story within Blue World is a good-old-fashioned explorer’s mystery that plays out like a book that you can’t put down. Unlike a book, you control the story in Blue World rather than an author. Throughout the game you have options and choices as to how your character should proceed that are a lot like the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books. As the game progresses the mystery evolves and you quickly find yourself wanting to know where the story will go next and how it will all turn out in the end.
While working your way through the mystery, you are faced with side missions such as rescuing a friend or calming an agitated shark. These missions aren’t too difficult, but they keep you engaged and keep the game-play fun.
Who’s Going To Love It
This is a great game for adults to play with the kids in their life because they can have fun identifying and learning about the fish together.
This is not a high action game, but that’s ok, it isn’t supposed to be. Players are able to journey through the game at their own pace, which will appeal to casual gamers and people who typically play Facebook games such as Farmville. This same group will really love the ability to purchase items to decorate their characters’ home.
What To Be Aware Of
Blue World is more than just a fun game. It is also educational. There are hundreds of real-life species in the game and each possesses a pop-up window that the player can access to learn fascinating facts about the creature.
This is a single player game, however, there is an online feature that allows you to play with a friend over the Internet. In order to engage the online play, both people will need an internet-connected Wii.
4 out of 5
It has to be fun or it wouldn’t be on Time to Play. But some games are more fun than others so here’s our scale: 1 is fun, 2 is a lot of fun, 3 is great, 4 is awesome and 5 is out-of-this-world!
